ANMC is a modern, well-equipped, 150-bed inpatient and specialty clinic facility and large primary clinic. It provides medical services to 120,000 Alaska Natives and American Indians directly supporting the Anchorage area, as well as six regional hospitals and 178 village clinics located across Alaska. ANMC is Alaska’s only certified Level II Trauma Center, and it is a Magnet facility (awarded for nursing excellence). The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and Southcentral Foundation jointly own and manage the Alaska Native Medical Center under the terms of Public Law 105-83. These parent organizations have established a Joint Operating Board to ensure unified operation of health services provided by the Medical Center.
