DESCRIPTION:Dr. Annabelle M. de St. Maurice\, MD\, MPH\nDr. Tara Ness\, MD\, MPH\nDr. Eric Bortz\, PhD \nDr. Annabelle M. De ST Maurice\, MD\, MPH\,-. Obtained her medical degree at the University of Rochester and\ncompleted her Pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. After residency\, Dr. de St.\nMaurice went to Vanderbilt University\, where she completed a pediatric infectious disease fellowship and earned a\nMaster’s in Public Health. After fellowship\, she joined the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the CDC\, where she\nstudied the epidemiology of viral hemorrhagic fevers. Her research and clinical interests are focused on mitigating\nthe spread and severity of infectious diseases through vaccines and infection control practices in healthcare and\ncommunity settings. \nDr. Tara Ness\, MD\, MPH—specializes in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She earned her medical\ndegree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) in\nglobal health. Dr. Ness completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital\, focusing\non global child health. During her residency\, she spent a year in Eswatini\, where she provided HIV care to children\nand their families. \nDr. Eric Bortz\, PhD\, — Is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of\nAlaska Anchorage. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from UCLA and completed postdoctoral research in\nVirus-Host Interactions at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. \nSome topics covered include an overview of preventable diseases in Alaska and a spotlight on measles\,\ntuberculosis\, bird flu\, and other virus spillovers in Alaska.\nAccredited continuing education details will be available soon!\nRegistration is now open.
